As a track bike, her T4 is already quite minimal, but the Van Houwelings hone it to perfection with simple aero gear designed to squeeze every last second out of the bike. Molly Van Houweling is an under-recognized rider putting up some amazing performances across multiple disciplines, particularly in non-drafting timed events. The California native is sometimes known as the 'Queen of the Clock.' The UCI Amateur World Champion TT rider has recently set her sights on the Hour Record. Molly has taken the US, Pan American Elite, and UCI Masters 40-44 World Record. Her July 3rd Hour of 46.088km also surpassed the overall women's UCI Hour Record, but was not an official UCI-recognized attempt. This September, Van Houweling will attempt a repeat performance in an attempt to definitively own the UCI record. Below is a gallery from her July 3rd attempt, and the Cervelo T4 bike used for the effort. Photos courtesy Instituto del Deporte del Estado de Aguascalientes.

The Hour Attempt
On July 3, 2015, Molly Van Houweling put in a record performance, clocking 46.088km in an hour. She will now attempt to repeat or improve on that performance and officially claim the UCI Hour Record. Cervelo's new entry-level frame is probably the best deal on the market. Great tech, great price, and eminently upgradeable.
