I had long known about custom IEMs (that stands for 'In Ear Monitor'), and that custom IEMs were supposed to be much more comfortable, and also deliver even better sound than standard earphones were capable of. The problem, of course, is cost. Typically, the cheapest IEMs cost about $700 for a pair. Enter inearcustom.com, which offers the perfect solution. The website inearcustom.com promised to make ANY pair of earphones into a custom IEM for just over a hundred bucks. That's a LOT cheaper than anything else on the market, and I couldn't resist giving it a try. Read the full review for my experience.
Here is how these IEMs began, as Shure SE210's. I have a second set of IEMs from InEarCentral.com which were made from Shure SE530's, the highest-end monitors from Shure. These 210's are about $300 cheaper, and the sound is slightly less-refined, but the overall comfort, isolation, and beauty of the product is absolutely the same for both pairs. I highly recommend ANY pair of custom monitors from InEarCentral.com - they are simply sublime.
