The Aeria is Profile's new top-of-the-line bar. It's based on modern bar design and is a beautiful match for modern bikes. It's clean, elegant, easy to adjust, and is by far my favorite Profile bar ever made. That's not to say it's perfect, because it does have some quirks of its own. But this is a VERY good bar that will work well for a lot of riders. Have a look at the full article for the breakdown of how this bar works.


The Profile Design Aeria. Simple, elegant, and very adjustable.

The extension clamping hardware is very minimal and fairly light. The full system weighs in at 670g.

Profile Design's new internal wedge system means a cleaner frontal profile.

The bar has a short upturned section which I personally don't like too much, but Profile says many of its customers find it to be more stable on descents and corners versus a flat hand hold.

The Aeria comes with Profile Design's S-bend extensions.

The frontal area of the bar is very low, for better airflow and lower drag. Very nice.

The arm cups have just two positions, which offer slight reach adjustment. Presumably you're adjusting reach primarily at the stem level.

This is the novel internal wedge system that clamps the aerobars down.

See that tiny protrusion in the center of the clamp? That's the internal wedge. As you tighten the hardware down, that piece gets pushed upwards, against the extensions, securing them in place. It's minimal, elegant, and absolutely brilliant.

Three width adjust positions are available, but nothing super narrow.
