See that tiny protrusion in the center of the clamp? That's the internal wedge. As you tighten the hardware down, that piece gets pushed upwards, against the extensions, securing them in place. It's minimal, elegant, and absolutely brilliant.

The Aeria is Profile's new top-of-the-line bar. It's based on modern bar design and is a beautiful match for modern bikes. It's clean, elegant, easy to adjust, and is by far my favorite Profile bar ever made. That's not to say it's perfect, because it does have some quirks of its own.
