Ben Hoffman is one of the most promising young stars in the ranks of pro triathlon. He sat down with TriRig for an exclusive interview and a look at his Specialized Shiv, complete with Zipp hoops, SRAM RED drivetrain, and some custom accessories that make the bike truly his. Make sure to check out the video interview in the main article.

Ben has been doing some work to dial in his front end, and now uses the Zipp Vuka Bull to hit his position.

Riding on quiet Boulder roads, Hoffman puts the power down.

Hoffman rides with some of the best gear in the business: Specialized S-Works Shiv frame, Zipp 808 Firecrest front, Super-9 Disc rear, and SRAM RED components.

This is the view most athletes have of Hoffman - riding away hard.

Ben has some nice gear, and the legs to back it up.

A little cool-down after the ride for the former Lake Placid champ.

Hoffman's Zipp front end is clean and dialed.

Hoffman is riding the original VukaShift extensions, which mate seamlessly with the SRAM RED extensions. Interestingly, Hoffman chooses the standard shifters, and not the R2C version.

A checkered flag theme adorns Hoffman's bike and race kit.

Ergometer duties go to the Specialized Quarq, a great blend of light weight, stiffness, and ANT+ goodness.

Climbing, descending, on the flats, or in the corners, the Shiv is a great bike.

Hoffman's fit looks aggressive, yet comfortable. He's ready to rock.

Thousands of hours in the saddle often yield some real pipes for veins coming out of the skin.

Hoffman reviews his Shiv after a nice ride. Thanks for letting us check out the rig, Ben! Best of luck with the rest of your season.
