  • Wind tunnel results provided invaluable information in refining the shape of the Omega and making it the fastest production brake in the world. The Coggan tunnel is small, but is perfect for testing small items like brakes. The precision of this mini tunnel is actually better than that of larger tunnels.

  • The 'sting' consists of the truncated Cervelo Wolf fork, which was used for all brake runs for consistency. Every brake also had a run of cable that was kept consistent in size. The brake pads were kept at the same stance width, and at the same absolute height as well.
  • The side-on shot provides some perspective as to the full size of the testing area in the Coggan Low Speed Wind Tunnel.

  • To give a sense of perspective, here's just the best and the worst - the TriRig Omega vs a standard sidepull brake, Shimano's Dura-Ace.
  • A lot of people have been interested in how the Omega fares against the new Magura hydraulic brakes. As expected, the Omega's smooth, sealed shape has better high-yaw performance than the Magura, which is a lot of little spots for the air to get trapped. Also no surprise is that they have similar low-yaw performance, as both brakes have very low frontal area.
  • The drag added by each of the production brakes tested.
