The finishing touches on our Lighten Up bike are some of the most commonly overlooked, but make a big difference to the bike's overall weight. We picked these parts for their lightness, but also their performance, and aesthetics. They're gorgeous.

Tune's Skyline skewers are the lightest in the world at just 17 grams for the pair!

In addition to being insanely light, the skewers only present a tiny target to the wind.

Tune makes these beauties in a huge variety of colors, to suit whatever ride you have.

Once mounted up, these babies practicaly disappear on the bike!

These skewers don't have a quick-release lever, but instead use this 4 gram key to screw on and off. Even including the weight of this key, they're the lightest skewers anywhere.

Front braking duties have been given to this ultra-posh Fibula brake from THM. The brake is an insane 50g, but has tons of stopping power, and operates as smooth as silk.

The Fibula front actually hides nicely within the fork profile of the Scapula, save for the cam arms.

Our fork for the Lighten Up project is the Scapula SP, and ours came in at just 239g.

The Scapula SP has a semi-deep profile, and although it was engineered with weight in mind, it probably doesn't do too bad in terms of aerodynamics.

THM makes some beautiful gear, and it shows.

The Fibula brake is the perfect match for the Scapula SP, and both just exude beauty with their raw 3k carbon weaves.

The gorgeous, svelte Fibula front brake.
