Tim's Specialized Transition

Tim L has what looks like a very typical triathlon setup. It's almost exactly the stock spec for a Transition. But Tim didn't buy the bike as a complete unit. He actually bought all the components separately, and it's a pure coincidence that he ended up with the same rig Specialized had in mind. Don't believe it? Take it straight from the horse's mouth.

"I've ridden bikes for a fair while, so when I got into triathlons I purchased the Vision front end to go on my existing bike, a Specialized S-Works Roubaix.  Perhaps not the configuration that Specialized had in mind for the Roubaix, but it worked for getting into an aerodynamic position for my first attempt at a tri.  The Zipp 404 wheels were the next upgrade, but after a longer triathlon I was less than satisfied with the position and geometry of the Roubaix time trial rig.  A TT bike fit at Colorado Multisport in Boulder highlighted the benefits of a specific TT geometry and a lead to the purchase of the Transition frame.  I'm happy with the FSA cranks on my Roubaix so stayed with FSA K-Force crankset.  A few Dura-Ace components finished off the bike.  Polar s725 computer is strapped around the stem with some pipe foam to hold it tight."
